Car-free Ayala Avenue will only be from 6:00 AM until 10:00 AM during every Sunday of September
Going on a Sunday drive is perhaps one of the pastimes motorists do to enjoy a relaxing day. Whether it's in Metro Manila or in the nearby provinces, it's one of the many ways enthusiasts and drivers get to spend some quality time before the next working week.
Those that regularly go to Makati to do some Sunday driving along with some R&R, however, will have to adjust their trips to the city. Starting September 3 and every consecutive Sunday of September, Ayala Avenue will be car-free.
That's right, the City of Makati will not be allowing cars to traverse Ayala Avenue every Sunday beginning in September 2023. This is being done in order to give the citizens of Makati (as well as those visiting) to enjoy doing morning exercises, walking their pets, or even doing some cycling, skateboarding, or roller-blading.
But the temporary banning of cars will not be for the entire day. According to the City of Makati, the car-free policy will only last from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM every Sunday in September.
The next time you have a planned chill drive or get-together in Makati on a Sunday morning next month, do remember that Ayala Avenue will be closed to traffic from 6:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
