BMW turns the wick to 530 PS with 2025 M2 CS
BMW reveals the new G87 M2 CS with 530 PS from its inline-six twin turbo

The rowdier and gnarlier version of BMW’s E30 descendant has finally shown up.
Making its global debut is the BMW M2 CS, which raises the G87-generation M2’s bar even higher in terms of sheer performance.

While it may look like a regular M2 except for the ducktail spoiler at the rear, most of the enhancements were done under the hood of the M2 CS. The 3.0-liter, inline-six twin turbo now produces 530 PS and 650 Nm of torque, up by 50 PS and 50 Nm more than the standard M2. The 8-speed M Steptronic transmission delivers power to the rear wheels with Drivelogic as standard.

Apart from the increase in power, the BMW M2 CS also went on a diet, as greater use of carbon fiber reinforced plastic and standard forged M light alloy wheels makes the CS 30 kg lighter than the standard version.
This makes the M2 CS faster at 0 to 100 km/h, reaching it at 3.8 seconds instead of 4. Unlike the standard M2, the CS comes with the M Driver’s Package from the factory, which gives it a top speed of 302 km/h.

Inside, the M2 CS features an M Alcantara steering wheel with a red center mark and CFRP paddles. The same material was also used for the center console, while the M carbon bucket seats, door trims, and entry sill plates get the exclusive CS lettering. Like the standard M2, the M2 CS has a Harman Kardon Sound System along with a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch infotainment display.

The special edition model also carries over the M setup customization setting to optimize the engine, suspension, steering, brakes, and the traction control to alter the car’s handling characteristics.

The M2 CS will be made in BMW’s San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico and will be produced in limited numbers. Sales will begin by late summer 2025 in Europe, which means that it will arrive sometime in August or September. With those timelines, that means the M2 CS could make its way in the country sometime in the -BER months of 2025, or early 2026.
