Easter Egg: Toyota PH drops 2022 Veloz teaser
Toyota Motor Philippines gearing up to launch another new model: the Veloz

This year, both the global and local automotive industry has Toyota written all over it. And they're not done.
After the successful introduction of the Raize and Avanza in the past months, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has another model coming: the all-new Veloz.
Toyota recently posted a five-second teaser on its official Facebook page. Based on the upcoming model’s silhouette, it is, without a doubt, the Avanza’s more upscale brother. This comes as no surprise though, as we had confirmation from a Toyota executive that the model is coming to the PH market when its MPV brother was launched last month.

The Veloz used to be the top-spec variant of the Avanza called the Avanza Veloz. But for its third-generation guise, it drops the Avanza name and is marketed as a standalone model. In fact, TMP calls it a "compact SUV" instead of an MPV, which means, the 7-seater is set to take on the likes of the Honda BR-V and the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross.
Following the Indonesian-spec Veloz, the new model could come with a single-engine offering: the 1.5-liter 2NR-VE Dual VVT-i inline-four found in the range-topping Avanza G and could be mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Should that be the case, it will be interesting to see where the Veloz would line up. We should not forget that Toyota is also offering the Rush with the same 7-seat compact SUV segment but with rear-wheel-drive.
