DPWH to conduct rehabilitation works on EDSA-Ortigas Flyover southbound
Heads up motorists, the Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH) announced that a section of EDSA will be closed to vehicles due to road rehabilitation works.
In a recent announcement, the DPWH Metro Manila 1st District Engineering Office said that from April 6, 2023, 8:00 AM to April 10, 2023, 11:59 PM, the three lanes of the EDSA Ortigas Flyover – Southbound will be closed to the public.
The rehabilitation works will involve major repairs on the southbound segment of the flyover to rectify the damages observed in its expansion joints. The flyover's rehabilitation work will provide an improved riding surface as well as strengthened structural integrity for motorists coming from Pasig City, Quezon City, and other areas.
With full closure set to be implemented, the DPWH has advised motorists to take alternate routes including the service road to avoid traffic congestion.
The DPWH pledged that the southbound section of the EDSA Ortigas Flyover will be opened to traffic once the rehabilitation works are completed and the lanes are fully cured on April 10, 2023, to avoid heavy traffic once the workforce returns.
