VelociRaptor 500 is a souped-up V6-powered Ranger Raptor

It might have taken some time, but the all-new Ford Ranger Raptor has officially arrived in the Philippines. But unbeknownst to us, the US market also received the next-generation Ranger Raptor just recently as well.

Unlike the Raptor that we get which continues to be powered by the 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine from before, the US market comes with the sought-after 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6. What's more, is that it gets extra horsepower than other markets get – 410 PS to be exact. This translates to an increase of 13 PS over what Thailand gets while torque remains at 583 Nm.

But for tuning house Hennessey Performance, they believe they can one-up Ford. Say hello to the 2024 VelociRaptor 500, and from its namesake, it cranks out more horsepower and torque than what the regular EcoBoost V6 already makes. Thanks to a new high-flow air induction system, a larger intercooler, and an ECU upgrade, the twin-turbo pickup truck now puts out a whopping 507 PS and 746 Nm of pull.

Like the regular Ranger Raptor, the souped-up engine of the VelociRaptor 500 is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, along with the full-time 4WD system complete with front and rear locking differentials. There's even a low-range transfer box for when the going gets even tougher. Since Ford already modified the Ranger Raptor's suspension with Fox 2.5 Live Valve internal bypass dampers, Hennessey actually left it untouched, as well as the active valve exhaust system.

As for the exterior, the upgraded pickup truck gets a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 35-inch off-road tires, custom bumpers, VelociRaptor 500 badges, Hennessey lettering on the hood, an integrated bull bar, and an additional set of LED lights on the front bumper. Last but not least, the interior of the pickup truck gets all-weather floor mats, Hennessey embroidered headrests, and a build number plaque to remind would-be owners they are in something special.

“The VelociRaptor 500 Ranger is an excellent choice for the pickup enthusiast who doesn’t need the capacity of our full-size VelociRaptor 600 F-150. The midsize pickup is incredibly capable and very agile… it’s actually lighter than the Bronco SUV! In addition, our 500-horsepower upgrade will noticeably improve low-end torque, and it’s got a lot more power for those who like to really push their trucks in mud, sand, or on the open road,” said John Hennessey, founder, and CEO.

Looking to get one for yourself? The special package is available for USD 24,950 (not including the donor Ranger Raptor) which is equivalent to PHP 1.391 million, the upgrade kit has quite the sticker price. But for those that really want an EcoBoost-powered Ranger Raptor that makes over 500 PS, there's no alternative to the VelociRaptor 500.
