We get insider information about the all-new Haval Jolion
We've already covered what the Haval H6 and Great Wall Cannon pick-up could have once they're officially launched at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show. Now it's time to see what the Jolion might have once it also makes its official debut at the annual auto show.
Serving as the brand's smallest offering, the Jolion slots below the much bigger H6 HEV. But that doesn't mean it's lacking in features and amenities. According to an anonymous source, the Jolion will be packing plenty of amenities and will be available in different variants.
Initially, we thought the Jolion will only be available with a hybrid powertrain. But after getting insider information, we found out that it can also be powered by a turbocharged engine.
Beginning with the former, the hybrid version consists of a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder that's helped along by an electric motor. It has a combined system output of 186 PS with 375 Nm of torque and is paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). The other motor also displaces 1.5 liters but is turbocharged. It makes 141 PS with 220 Nm of torque and is coupled to a wet 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
In terms of size, the Jolion comes in at 4471mm long, 1841mm wide, 1619mm tall, and has a 2700mm wheelbase. The hybrid version comes with 18-inch wheels with 225/55 tires while the 1.5-liter turbo gets 17-inch alloys with 215/60 tires.
When it comes to in-car amenities, high-grade models will come with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a heads-up display, leather seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents, and a wireless charging pad. Top-of-the-line models get a 12.3-inch touchscreen while lesser variants get a slightly smaller 10.25-inch display. Despite the difference in size, both screens come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Like the H6 and Cannon, the Jolion will also be available with intelligent driver aids. These include; adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, rear-cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, lane-center keeping assist, lane-change assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and rear-collision warning.
Get to see the Jolion, H6, and Cannon pick-up make their grand debut at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show, which will begin on April 13 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
