After a lengthy development phase and a series of intensive performance tests around the best circuits in the world, Honda is finally ready to shed the camouflage off the next-generation Civic Type R.

The date is set – July 21 will mark the global reveal of Honda's ultimate hot hatch, which promises to be the best Civic Type R ever.

Honda's teaser image of the uncamouflaged Civic Type R coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Civic lineage that first went on sale in 1972. In addition, this year also represents the 25th year of the red H-badged Type R line. Yes, Civic enthusiasts. The EK9 is now 25 years old.

With only a few days left, Honda is still mum about the mechanical details of the 2023 Civic Type R, but long-standing rumors suggest the new model will still have the K20C1 VTEC Turbo, albeit tweaked to extract more performance.

There's no word yet from Honda Cars Philippines as to when the all-new Civic Type R will have its local launch, but we're hoping it happens before the year ends. Are you excited to see the all-new Civic Type R? Let us know in the comments.
