Cavite imposes curfew hours for all ages
In case you missed it, the Province of Cavite has imposed a curfew between 10 PM to 4 AM the following morning. The curfew is in effect within the province of Cavite and all citizens, regardless of age, are included in this provincial ordinance.
The ordinance took effect on October 19, 2023, and will end at midnight of October 30, 2023 – the day of the Barangay and SK elections.
All ages included
Unlike other local curfew ordinances which only target minors, Section 3 of the Provincial Ordinance 420-2023 specifically states that “During the period from October 19, 2023, to October 30, 2023, 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM, a curfew shall be in effect within the boundaries of the province. During this time, all individuals, regardless of age, shall remain indoors and shall not loiter or assemble in public places.”
Exemptions
Like many other rules, Provincial Ordinance 420-2023 has exemptions. Besides members of law enforcement units (on duty), election officials and personnel performing official duties are exempted from the curfew ordinance.
Likewise, people traveling to and from work, including those who are performing their duties as delivery riders, are exempted from the curfew. Individuals, including minors with parental permission for essential activities such as buying food or medicine during curfew hours, are also exempted. Individuals who are in an emergency situation are also exempted.
Penalties
If an individual violates the Cavite-wide curfew ordinance, a penalty of PHP 2,000 shall be imposed on the 1st offense; PHP 3,000 for the 2nd offense, while a PHP 5,000 penalty shall be imposed on the 3rd offense OR 6 months imprisonment.
Still craving for that Tagaytay bulalo at 12 AM? Maybe just postpone it until after October 30.
