Defender 130 officially joins 90, 110 lineup
Time to take off the camouflage - Land Rover has officially launched the Defender 130.
No, there's nothing wrong with your screens. The 130 is essentially a stretched version (340mm, to be exact) of the Defender 110. Now with seating for eight and additional cargo space, the 130 is the third body style introduced for the new Defender lineup.
Land Rover says the Defender 130 could accommodate up to three adults in its third-row seats. Also, each row has its own ventilation system with optional four-zone climate control. With all three rows up, the Defender 130 has 398 liters of cargo space in the back. But when the second and third-row seats are folded, it offers up to 2,291 liters of storage space for all your needs. Opt for the five-seat version, and the space even balloons to 2,516 liters.
Getting in and out of the third-row seats was made easier thanks to the foldable and slide-forward second-row seats. In addition, owners can lower the Defender's Electronic Air Suspension at the touch of a button inside the load area for easier loading purposes.
Also unique for the Defender 130 is a large 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment display and a fancy cabin air purification system for its interior, while the Sedona Red colorway is complemented by the Extended Bright Pack – giving the 130's exterior body claddings a Ceres Silver Satin finish and a Noble Chrome finish for its front and rear skid plates.
As for its engine options, the Defender 130 is available with four electrified Ingenium engine options – two 3.0-liter six-cylinder gasoline engines and two 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesels mated to a 48V belt-integrated starter generator. The P300 gasoline puts out 300 PS and 470 Nm, while the P400 has 400 PS and 570 Nm of torque. For its diesel options, the D250 produces 250 PS and 600 Nm, while the D300's power output stands at 300 PS and 650 Nm.
All Defender 130 variants have permanent all-wheel-drive and 8-speed ZF automatic transmission as standard together with Land Rover's advanced Terrain Response system and air suspension.
In terms of off-road and towing capabilities, the Defender 130 has a water wading depth of 900 mm, and it has a max towing capacity of 3,000 kg.
The Land Rover Defender 130 is sold in SE, HSE, X-Dynamic, and X variants, as well as a First Edition model that's available in three distinct colors and interior design theme.
So far, Land Rover America, the UK, and Australia are already accepting orders for the Defender 130. As for the Philippines, however, distributor All British Cars have yet to make announcements if they will be offering the vehicle here. But when they do, we'll be sure to let you know.
