Online registration of vehicles, DL application soon at LTO
To better serve the motoring public, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) is planning to implement an online application system for vehicle registration and driver’s license application since last year.
Now, under the leadership of Assistant Secretary, Atty. Vigor Mendoza II, the LTO will fast-track the program and has tasked the LTO regional offices to speed up its implementation.
“We’ve tasked the regional offices to double-time in their effort to implement the online system so that motorists who need to renew their vehicle’s registration will no longer need to visit the LTO. Our goal is to have all these transactions be done online,” says Mendoza.
Mendoza said this would also be done when it comes to the online procedure of applying for a driver’s license. “We can send the license via courier,” added Mendoza.
Under Mendoza’s leadership, the LTO has vowed to digitalize the system and transactions in the agency to provide efficient service to the public and to solve the long-time problem of fixers.
