LTO realigns scopes, duties of Traffic Safety Division
The LTO's TSD will now serve directly under the Office of the Assistant Secretary

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is making some changes in its effort to enhance the effectiveness and oversight when it comes to road safety and driver education functions.
In a recently posted Memorandum Circular issued by the LTO, the agency announced that the Traffic Safety Division (TSD) is hereby realigned from the Law Enforcement Service to be directly under the Office of the Assistant Secretary. As such, the TSD will be under the direct supervision of the undersigned and shall perform several functions:

In this regard, the Chief of the TSD will also be responsible for overseeing the transition and ensuring that all functions in the division continue without interruption. Meanwhile, the Law Enforcement Service shall fully cooperate during the transition period and provide support to the TSD.
With road crashes continuing to happen more frequently, the LTO is looking to reduce that by helping with traffic safety education, as well as coordinating with other government/private agencies involved in road safety.
Here's to hoping the LTO will be able to move swiftly to reduce crashes on the road.
