Mercedes-Benz PH: First all-electric EQ model coming this year
Mercedes-Benz Philippines will soon offer a fully electric vehicle in its lineup

It may have taken Mercedes-Benz Philippines quite a while, but finally, their plan for electrification is getting underway.

Mercedes-Benz PH executives have confirmed their first EQ model will arrive before the year ends. The announcement came after they launched the all-new GLC crossover, which for the first time is being offered in the country with 48V mild hybrid assistance to its 2.0-liter gasoline engine.
This means Mercedes-Benz will be joining the likes of Porsche, Audi, and BMW in offering fully electric models in the country. As for which particular model, however, we may have to wait until the end of the year to find out.

While they did not disclose what prompted them to finally introduce an EQ model in the country, the move may have been due to more incentives brought by PBBM's EO12. With full EVs having zero import duties and excise taxes for the next 5 years, Mercedes-Benz PH may see this period as the right time to offer fully electric models with far more attractive pricing.
Currently, Mercedes-Benz has the EQA, EQB, EQC, EQV, as well as the EQS, EQE, and their SUV counterparts in their fully-electric EQ family. Which do you think will be offered first? Let us know in the comments.
