New two-lane road ready to serve Bulacan motorists

Bulacan motorists can now bypass the MacArthur Highway when traveling through Meycauayan and Marilao with the newly-opened Meycauayan-Marilao East Service Road.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) together with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and NLEX Corporation have formally opened the new two-lane road. This will serve as an alternate route for travelers coming from as far as Paso de Blas in Valenzuela City.

It also connects to the Meycauayan East Service Road, which was opened in December 2021, and gives motorists a convenient access route from Lawang Bato in Valenzuela City to Libtong in Meycauayan City.

Constructed by the DPWH, the new East Service Road runs parallel to the Meycauayan-Marilao portion of NLEX and occupies its right of way (ROW) covering Brgy. Lias in Marilao, Bulacan. This is one of the government's traffic decongestion projects to improve the Bulacan road network.

The Meycauayan-Marilao East Service Road is also aimed at providing better traffic flow in the Meycauayan Interchange during peak hours. It would also boost economic activities in the province by allowing faster movement of goods.

“We are delighted to help the government in providing safer roads and better mobility to our host communities in Meycauayan and Marilao. This service road also augments our efforts to relieve mounting traffic at our interchanges,” said NLEX Corp. Vice President, Donna Marcelo.
