Would you get the 2022 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV for PHP 2.4M?
Chery Auto Philippines was quite busy during the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Not only did they launch the Tiggo 8 Pro, but they also revealed a plug-in hybrid version of their latest flagship SUV. That's right, the automaker also launched the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV.
While the standard Tiggo 8 Pro comes with a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four that makes 183 PS with 275 Nm of torque, the PHEV has a smaller 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder that makes 155 PS at 5500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque at 1750 to 4000 RPM. It's helped along by two electric motors placed at the front and rear axles. The front unit produces 25 kW with 80 Nm of torque, while the rear motor puts out 40 kW and 70 Nm.
With a 19.27-kWh battery pack, the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV can travel on pure electric power for 95 km. Once the batteries are depleted, it will take 3 hours for the battery to be fully recharged. When set to HEV mode, both the turbocharged engine and the electric motors work in unison to provide power and fewer emissions. It's only in EV mode do the electric motors provide the necessary propulsion.
Since the PHEV is based on the regular Tiggo 8 Pro, it gets the same level of features and amenities. From a full-leather interior, soft-touch dashboard padding, LED ambient lighting, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control, the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV is one fully-loaded SUV.
Other key amenities present in the plug-in hybrid SUV include a power tailgate, push-button start, keyless entry, 8-speaker sound system, 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, power-adjustable driver's seat, power-folding mirrors, and intelligent remote key.
The 2022 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV is available in only one variant and is available in three colors; Blue, Gray, and White. The suggested retail price of the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV is PHP 2.4 million, which is PHP 752,000 more than the regular Tiggo 8 Pro.
