Project Trailgater: Nissan turns Frontier into off-road viewing party truck
Nissan Project Trailgater to be shown publicly in November's SEMA show in Las Vegas

Nissan has combined the idea of exploring the outdoors while keeping up with watching your favorite sports.
The Japanese manufacturer has revealed the Project Trailgater, which is essentially a US-market Nissan Frontier Pro-4X fitted with a setup designed to stream games even while you’re in the middle of a trail.

The Project Trailgater concept has dual 43-inch TVs at the bed, along with powerful soundbars fitted to a NISMO Off Road rack to transform any campsite into your remote living room. To power these devices, there’s a folding solar panel, a custom lithium-ion battery pack, and a Starlink device to connect to the internet.
Of course, you’ll need snacks while watching. Say no more, says Nissan. They fitted the Project Trailgater with an integrated cooler, a fold-out kitchen station and sink, along with a propane grill that also folds out of the custom-fitted CargoGlide slide-outs.

The mobile living room feature only adds up to the Frontier Pro-4X’s capabilities as an off-road truck, as it’s already fitted with a suspension lift kit, forged control arms, high-performance rear shocks, and front coilovers. Moreover, the Frontier Pro-4X also comes with 17-inch beadlock wheels fitted to Yokohama Geolandar M/T tires that can be found in the NISMO Off Road catalog.

Pretty cool, right? Well, the Project Trailgater won’t be available off the shelf as it’s only a one-off build that will be shown publicly at the 2024 SEMA show in Las Vegas this November. But hey, there are plenty of 4x4 outfitters in the country that can make this build possible for your truck, right? Uh-oh. Budol alert!
