Radar EV pickup trucks launching in PH soon
The BYD Shark 6 better watch its back as UAAGI is set to join the electrified pickup market with Radar

Back in April of this year, United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) was officially appointed as the Philippine distributor of Radar, Geely's sub-brand that makes electrified pickup trucks.
Then, in August 2025, UAAGI received approval to bring a light-duty vehicle that's powered by a 1.5L gasoline engine. Based on our initial research, it appears that UAAGI is set to launch Geely's sub-brand for pickup trucks, called Radar. This was then followed by the Department of Energy (DOE) recognizing several variants of the Radar RD6 Horizon pickup as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).

Now, UAAGI has officially announced the launch of the Radar brand. This comes after the automaker released the first teaser photo on social media with a silhouette of the Radar RD6 Horizon PHEV. The photo also features a slogan that reads “Challenge What's Common,” which could be a direct response to traditional turbo-diesel-powered pickup trucks on the market. It could also be a subtle jab against the BYD Shark 6 PHEV, which has been on the market for quite some time.
Based on initial specifications, all variants of the RD6 Horizon PHEV will get a 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder called the Hybrid Special Engine dubbed “Thor”. The engine puts out 156 PS with 370 Nm of torque and is assisted by a pair of electric motors. The front motor generates 217 PS while the rear motor produces 245 PS.

Thanks to a 19.09 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack, the Radar RD6 Horizon has an electric range of up to 83 km and a combined range of up to 1,000 km. It also supports a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system and supports both AC & DC fast charging that's rated up to 50 kW.

There's no word yet if Radar Philippines will offer battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions of the RD6. But given that EVs and PHEVs are growing in popularity in the country, the automaker could offer both types of electrified pickup trucks.
