After so many teasers, Ram reveals its upcoming all-electric pickup

After a lengthy teaser campaign for its upcoming all-electric pickup truck concept, Ram has officially revealed its vision for a zero-emissions workhorse. This is the 1500 Revolution BEV concept, and boy does it look promising.

Set to take on the likes of the Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Silverado EV, and Rivian R1-T, the all-new concept has given us the first glimpse of what to expect once Ram turns the 1500 Revolution BEV concept into reality in the near future.

Revealed at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the concept truck not only looks sleek and dynamic, but Ram claims it's also brimming with features and high-tech gizmos that complement its all-electric powertrain. While its futuristic looks mean we can expect the production version to look mean as heck, we won't be surprised if Ram decides to tone it down when it rolls off the factory floor.

Still, it's hard to miss the Revolution's different front end that features an illuminated “RAM” badge, unique LED lighting signatures, a muscular hood, and an aggressive front bumper. The rest of the truck combines a curvaceous bed, specially-designed rear suicide doors, and inverted L-shaped LED taillights integrated into the tailgate. Since it has no engine up front, Ram says the electric pickup concept has a cab-forward design, allowing them to make the interior more spacious while retaining the same bed length as production trucks.

Speaking of the interior, it's time to check out the concept's space-age-looking cabin. One will immediately notice that it lacks a B-pillar which helps give the pickup truck a roomier look and feel. While it only has two rows of seats, Ram says that there are two jump seats fitted to the powered mid-gate which gives the Ram Revolution the ability to have three-row seating. If you need more space for long objects, the powered mid-gate can be dropped to make space for longer items.

Also worth mentioning inside the Ram Revolution is its high-tech dashboard. It has two 14.2-inch infotainment touchscreens which control the vehicle's onboard systems and amenities. A neat feature of the system is that the lower screen is detachable and can be used as a tablet. Other key highlights inside the vehicle include the semi-digital controls on the steering wheel, LED ambient lighting throughout the vehicle, and the power-adjustable seats for both the front and rear occupants.

Ram has yet to reveal what powers the 1500 Revolution BEV concept. However, Ram did mention that the pickup truck rides on the Stellantis STLA Frame Platform which gives it AWD capability. This also tells us that the truck will likely come with a dual-motor setup, a multi-height adjustable suspension system, and four-wheel steering for extra agility over any terrain.

It will also likely come with an 800-volt architecture which gives the Ram 1500 Revolution the ability to recharge up to 350 kW. This will enable the Revolution to add 161 km of range in just 10 minutes of recharge time. As for its cruising, the Ram Revolution may be able to drive up to 800 km on a full charge, depending on the specification or variant.

With the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV concept serving as a thinly-disguised version of the EV pickup set to be launched sometime in 2025, we're hoping that Ram carries over much of the concept for the real thing once it's revealed in the future.
