PGA Cars officially debuts 2022 Porsche Macan
After launching it in Europe last year, Porsche has officially revealed the 2022 Macan in the Philippines. Sporting a refresh inside and out, the baby brother to the Cayenne gets an upgraded powertrain, a sharper-looking exterior, and a sportier cabin complete with high-tech features.
Starting with its design, the Macan gets a restyled nose that features a body-colored inlay which emphasizes the crossover's width. It also gets new LED headlights that come with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) that further highlight the vehicle's snazzier appearance. The sideblades, which have become a signature design of the Macan, have been updated with a three-dimensional structure and are painted in Lava Black.
Not forgetting the rear, Porsche reshaped the bumper to feature a black diffuser that now extends upward for a more prominent look. Meanwhile, the LED strip with integrated four-point brake lights continues to give the Macan an unmistakable look. Last but not least are the striking 19-inch alloy wheels that complement the crossover's sportier aesthetic.
Open the doors, and the 2022 Macan invites passengers to a sporty interior. The new centrally-positioned tachometer was taken from the 911 playbook, while the analog clock in the middle of the dashboard is a signature Porsche design.
A restyled center console is also present inside the updated crossover. It now makes use of touch controls instead of physical buttons. Complementing the new feature is a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Porsche Communication Management.
Further highlighting the Macan's sportier pedigree are the shorter gear selector and a multifunction sports steering wheel that comes with paddle shifters. Last but not least, the Porsche is equipped with new Comfort Seats with electronic 14-way adjustment.
At the heart of the 2022 Macan is an upgraded 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The engine now makes 265 PS at 5000 – 6000 rpm, 20 PS more than its predecessor. Torque, on the other hand, is rated at 400 Nm and is available from 1800 to 4500 rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch gearbox.
Contributing to the vehicle's agility is the Sport Chrono Package with a new mode switch on the steering wheel. This allows drivers to choose between four driving modes; Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, and Individual. It also gets Launch Control that enables optimum acceleration from a standstill. Aiding the Macan to take on the bends are the Porsche Torque Vectoring Control (PTV) and the electronically controlled rear differential lock.
The 2022 Porsche Macan is now available at Porsche dealerships in Greenhills, San Juan, and Bonifacio Global City, Taguig with a suggested retail price of PHP 6.1 million.
