All-new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek debuts in 2.0i-L and 2.0i-S flavors
After announcing its imminent arrival last month, the all-new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek has been officially revealed to the public. The all-new vehicle was unveiled at the newly-inaugurated Subaru Alabang under Gateway Motors in Westgate.
Formerly known as the XV in its past iterations, the third-generation crossover gets a sleeker and more dynamic appearance, an improved Subaru Global Platform, and a wide array of new and improved in-car amenities and safety features.
The 2024 Crosstrek is available in two model variants; the entry-level 2.0i-L and the top-spec 2.0i-S. Despite some differences in terms of equipment (which we’ll get to later), both are powered by a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated Boxer engine with direct injection. It makes 156 PS at 6000 rpm and 196 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. Power goes to all four wheels via a Lineartronic CVT with paddle shifters and Symmetrical AWD.
Both versions of the 2024 Crosstrek now have EyeSight 4.0. The enhanced version makes use of an additional mono camera to the stereoscopic setup which allows for a wide field of view to detect incoming dangers and automatically steer or stop the vehicle before an accident happens.
As before, the crossover gets a full suite of intelligent driver aids for extra peace of mind on the road. These include; adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning (with prevention), lane-centering assist, autonomous emergency steering, pre-collision braking, and pre-collision throttle management.
Additional safety features available in the all-new Crosstrek include; anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, active torque vectoring, vehicle dynamics control, reverse automatic braking, hill-start assist, X-Mode with hill-descent control, and a host of airbags.
Over to its looks, Subaru gave the 2024 Crosstrek an evolutionary redesign. The front fascia now gets slim LED headlights and a bolder grille with a new mesh pattern. It also gets thicker body cladding for a more rugged look, more prominent fender bulges, squared overfenders, C-shaped LED taillights, a refreshed rear bumper, and more creases on the tailgate to highlight its more aggressive exterior.
Both the 2.0i-L and 2.0i-S come with LED headlights. However, only the range-topping version comes with the new LED cornering lamps. In addition, the 2.0i-L rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/60 series tires while the 2.0i-S comes with bigger 18-inch alloys wrapped in 225/55 tires. In terms of size, the 2024 Crosstrek measures 4480mm long, 1800mm wide, 1600mm tall, and has a 2670mm wheelbase. Last but not least, it has 220mm of ground clearance.
Hop inside and the 2024 Crosstreek welcomes passengers with a massive 11.6-inch tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system. Not only does it support Bluetooth, but it now comes with wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other in-car amenities available include dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, a host of USB-A/USB-C charging ports, and power-folding side mirrors.
Exclusive features available only on the 2.0i-S are the 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, a rear center armrest with integrated cupholders, a wireless charging pad for mobile phones, additional USB-A/USB-C charging ports for the rear passengers, a power-sliding sunroof, steering responsive headlights, LED front foglights, and auto-leveling LED headlights.
The first batch of the 2024 Crosstrek is at 150 units with another batch coming soon to the country. They also mentioned that they have a steady supply of Crosstreks.
Pricing of the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is as follows:
Crosstrek 2.0i-L - PHP 1.998 million
Crosstrek 2.0i-S - PHP 2.018 million
