Subaru BRZ, Toyota GR86 10th Anniversary Limited revealed
Yes, you read that headline right. Both the Toyota GR86 and the Subaru BRZ just turned 10 years old. The vehicle is now in its second generation and both are already here in the country (Toyota held a preview event of the GR86 last week).
To commemorate the sports coupes' birthdays, Toyota and Subaru released the 10th Anniversary Limited edition for the Japanese market. Not only do they come with unique exterior upgrades, but the two vehicles are also finished in exclusive paint jobs.
Starting with the GR86, the 10th Anniversary Limited is painted in Flame Orange as a tribute to the original 86 released a decade ago. It also comes with a commemorative logo on the rear window, as well as on the top of the door cards. Meanwhile, the cabin itself comes with orange stitches and trim pieces that match the body's exterior.
As for the BRZ, it also comes with the same commemorative logos on the rear window and top of the door cards. But instead of being painted in Flame Orange, the Subaru comes in the brand's signature WR Blue Pearl finish. The distinct blue shade can also be seen inside the BRZ and can be seen on the trim pieces and contrast stitching.
Don't expect any changes under the hood of both vehicles. The 10th Anniversary Limited versions of the GR86 and BRZ still come with the 2.4-liter naturally-aspirated flat-four that makes 237 PS and 250 Nm of torque. They can then be paired to either a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission.
Thinking of getting one for yourself? Unfortunately, the special edition Toyobaru twins will only be available for the Japanese market. Toyota did not say how many units they will be making in total. However, Subaru did say that there will only be 200 units available for the BRZ 10th Anniversary.
If you are choosing between the two, which one would you pick? The Flame Orange GR86 or the WR Blue Pearl BRZ? Let us know in the comments.
