It seems Toyota wants to make the Modellista brand available to other markets (and other models) outside of Japan. After introducing a dress-up kit for the Fortuner 2 weeks ago, Toyota Motor Thailand has revealed the Corolla Cross Modellista.

Available for only a limited number of units, the dressed-up crossover features unique exterior upgrades. To give the Corolla Cross a more stylish appearance, Modellista fitted a new aero kit that consists of a front lip, side skirts, and a rear bumper extension. Rounding up the exterior changes are the stylish 18-inch alloy wheels.

To give customers peace of mind when they purchase the Corolla Cross Modellista, the accessories come with a warranty for a maximum period of 36 months or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.

How much will the styling kit cost? Toyota Motor Thailand said that the complete set costs THB 41,500 or roughly PHP 62,782. Toyota did not mention if you can purchase the aftermarket upgrades per piece.

Only 250 units will be made, and it will only be available in either Hybrid Premium and Hybrid Safety Premium variants. That said, the Modellista kitted crossover will only be available with a 1.8-liter hybrid powertrain. The engine makes 99 PS with 142 Nm of torque, while the electric motor provides an additional 72 PS with 163 Nm. The crossover's total system output is rated at 122 PS.

With Modellista kits now available in Thailand, does this mean other ASEAN markets will get their hands on Modellista appearance packs? We've already seen a Modellista kitted Alphard at a local dealership once, so we're hoping it becomes a standard dealer accessory in the future.

What do you think of the Corolla Cross Modellista? Did the styling kit upgrade the crossover's looks, or could they have done more?
