Toyota PH recalls certain Hilux GR-S models due to sports bar issue
Toyota PH issues special service campaign on the Hilux GR-S

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has issued a recall for one of its popular models in the market. This comes after the automaker sent an advisory to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) regarding a special service campaign on the Hilux GR-S.
Based on the DTI advisory, TMP will replace the sports bar on certain Hilux GR-S models in the country. A total of 3,244 vehicles are affected in the country and all have a sports bar affixed through brackets. Under certain severe usage, the brackets may crack which may cause the sports bar to potentially detach from the pickup.

Should the sports bar become loose from the vehicle, it can pose a huge risk to other vehicles on the road as well as become a potential safety hazard to pedestrians.
To fix this, affected customers will be notified by TMP through an Official Notification Letter and will be invited by authorized Toyota dealers to replace the said sports bar with a new and improved unit at no cost to the owners.

Involved customers are encouraged to immediately set an appointment with any authorized dealer to perform the necessary remedy. However, since the replacement part is not yet available, authorized dealerships will remove the sports bar to prevent potential problems from happening. Once the replacement part becomes available, the dealership will contact customers.
To owners that have a Hilux GR-S, better contact your preferred dealership to see if your pickup needs its sports bar checked.
