Chery PH sales skyrocket to 85% in Q1 2023 vs last year

Thanks to a combination of factors led by the growing public awareness about Chery and its stylish, feature-packed line of crossovers, sales of key models from the brand skyrocketed by as much as 85% in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year.

The sales growth for two of Chery's important models outpaced the total industry growth, which averaged 35% over the course of last year. It also brings Chery Auto Philippines on track for achieving, or even surpassing, its sales targets for 2023.

The strong growth reflects the high demand for the company’s subcompact Tiggo 5X, which sold a total of 331 units in the first quarter of 2023 for a 75% growth compared to last year. Meanwhile, Chery's top-of-the-line 7-seater, the Tiggo 8 Pro which sold a total of 128 units boasted even higher growth of 85% percent from just 69 units same period last year.

“We are proud to be able to offer the styling, prices, and technology that even the most discriminating Filipino car buyers are looking for,” said Chery Auto Philippines chairman Rommel Sytin. “People need reliable, safe yet affordable mobility and we have the right mix of value-packed models with luxury, comfort, and safety features to suit any need or budget,” he added.

Further complementing the automaker's momentum is the Summer Blazing Tiggo Deals promo. It runs until June 30 and offers affordable and easy own deals such as all-in down payments as low as P28,888, monthly amortizations as low as P7,796, and savings as much as P130,000, depending on the vehicle model.

With Chery Auto Philippine bullish for high sales growth this 2023, the continued sales performance of the Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 5X will surely help the company achieve its targets for this year. And with the hybrid versions of the Tiggo 5X and Tiggo 7 Pro coming soon, Chery's figures could likely increase over time.
