Geely's Radar RD6 gearing up for Sept 9 launch
With the launch of the Radar RD6 in September, will it be a matter of time before we get it?

The hype behind Geely’s Radar RD6 electric pickup is real. The brand has released more photos of the truck as the launching date, September 9, is only weeks away.
We have written about the truck for quite some time now and have mentioned that if Geely decides to bring in the EV, it will disrupt the pickup and truck segments locally. Most of the trucks here run on diesel and some are still on gas power. But with the prices skyrocketing lately, the Chinese company might have a sure winner here.

New pictures of the truck have been released showing a white colorway which gives us stormtrooper vibes. We also see more black than chrome all around, such as the ones found on the faux air-dams in the front bumper and the side flaring of the EV truck giving the RD6 a much more sporty overall vibe. We also see a silver version with roof rails and a step board making the side profile sleeker as well.
The medium-sized pickup will measure 5,260 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, 1,830 mm in height, and will sport a wheelbase of 3,120 millimeters. The bed size will come in 1,525 x 1,450 x 540 millimeters. Again the RD6 will have a range of 600 kilometers and is set to come in RWD or AWD variants.

Radar is being positioned in China as the first electric lifestyle brand and the RD6 shows that off. Made to go off-road but keeping the environment-friendly theme, Geely through Radar wants to target a new more eco-conscious new customer who still loves the outdoors.
They are positioning the vehicle as the leader of the segment with features like built-in plugs in the side of the rear cab which will feature a 6 kW discharge panel and will have different discharge modes such as static discharge, mobile power, vehicle to vehicle, 220V at 10 amps and 220V at 16 amps. You all also get a very spacious “frunk” or a front trunk. With no combustion engine, the space is maximized for more cargo area. In short, you will mostly have all the things you will need and more for a night of back-to-nature camping.

As part of its lifestyle branding, Radar is also offering accessories for the truck and for those nights out in the bush. Portable Bluetooth speakers and mini refs are available also when ordering your pickup truck. These items will be available on the website once the truck goes up for sale. Again, this is only a China release but with the success of Geely locally, this will be a great addition and if the price is right, can go toe-to-toe with the local segment kings.
