Get from C3 in Caloocan to Magsaysay Blvd in Manila in just 8 mins via NLEX Connector

After opening the first 5 km section of the NLEX Connector last March 2023, NLEX Corporation has announced that the remaining 3 km segment is now open to the public. Officially opened to the public last October 28 at 12:01 AM, the opening of the 3-km Espana to Magsaysay section was done in order to serve the expected surge of motorists for Undas and the recently-concluded Barangay SK elections.

The opening of the new segment means travel time between C3 in Caloocan and Magsaysay Boulevard in Manila has been reduced to only 8 minutes. More importantly, the new NLEX Connector segment is expected to ease traffic conditions along Nagtahan, G. Araneta Avenue, Aurora Boulevard, Lacson, Magsaysay, and Espana Boulevard.

It will also help improve accessibility of motorists traveling from Manila, San Juan, and other nearby cities as they can now enter the NLEX Connector Magsaysay Interchange on-ramp and head straight to NLEX. In addition, the NLEX Connector also has two additional interchanges located on C3 Road/5th Avenue in Caloocan and in España, Manila.

“To alleviate the expected increase in traffic volume, we immediately decided to open the NLEX Connector España to Magsaysay Section. This should help improve the travel experience of motorists as this new section will make travel from Metro Manila to the North and vice versa, faster, and more convenient, especially this Undas,” said J. Luigi Bautista, NLEX Corporation president.

As for the toll fee, NLEX Corporation said the elevated expressway will retain the current discounted rate of PHP 86 for Class 1 vehicles until further notice. This also includes the Class 2 PHP 215 toll fee and the PHP 302 toll fee rated for Class 3 vehicles.

With the new section of NLEX Connector providing a 24/7 alternative route to motorists in all vehicle classes, the opening of the additional 1.8km four-lane (2×2) NLEX Connector España to Magsaysay Section will help ease traffic congestion in Metro Manila, especially in major thoroughfares such as EDSA and C5.
