Mazda officially unveiled the 2015 Mazda2 (Demio in other markets) at its Hofu plant in Hiroshima, Japan. As previously reported, it is incorporated with the company’s SkyActiv technology.
The Japanese automaker says the 2015 Mazda2 is infused with a combination of “performance, fuel economy, safety and driving fun.”
Similar to the Hazumi concept that debuted during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show last March, the 2015 Mazda2 features Mazda’s Kodo design language.
The interior of the 2015 Mazda2 is dominated by a black and white color scheme with red stitching accents on the seats.
The 2015 Mazda2 will premiere in Europe with a brand-new small displacement clean diesel engine. It is equipped with a SkyActiv-D 1.5L diesel engine, which can deliver performance, as Mazda says, equal to a 2.5L gasoline engine. Moreover, depending on the market, the 2015 Mazda2 can also sport a gasoline SkyActiv-G 1.3L or a SkyActiv-G 1.5L engine.
