Ford held the global debut of the Escort Concept as the blue oval brand tries to introduce more models to the world’s largest market. Touted as a C-segment car for the Chinese market, the new Escort offers a fun driving experience and high level of technology. It also promises exceptional roominess, functionality and sophisticated design for an entry-level C-segment car.

The Escort is one of the most celebrated nameplates in Ford history alongside the F-series trucks and the Mustang. It was however given the unceremonial axe in 2000 in favor of the Focus. We ran a three-part tribute on the venerable model last year, and are very much elated that Ford has decided to bring back the Escort, albeit for China only. Ford is banking on the Escort to increase its brand presence in China in the very competitive and diverse compact car segment.
